THE NATURE OF CHANGE

To change, we
need to think, act and talk change, seek
the most innovative of solutions and network
hope and constructive innovation to bring
together all peoples of good will throughout
the world. . It is the perturbation in the
system which creates the emergence of new
properties, and the realization for change
within the critical mass of people will
be the catalyst to bring about a peaceful
and sustainable world.
The major problem
of our civilization is based on power exploitation,
inequity and accumulation of wealth, win/lose
situations, and survival of the fittest.
Economic theory adds to the problem, assuming
infinite resources. In fact there is irreversible
loss of living and non-living resources.
Accumulation of capital is infinite and
the financial system is geared to invent
money, which is not based on material resources
due to usury and the logarithmic accumulation
of debt based interest rates. The assumption,
particularly of infinite supply of fossil
fuels, is ill founded; they have now reached
a peak.
Adding to this,
people have no idea of cause and effect.
We do not take in to account our psychology
and the way we deal with ourselves when
it comes to conflict resolution or technology.
We seem to have no conscience when we exploit
the earth or the third world. Economics
treats people as numbers; and science so
objectifies processes and systems, that
we lose our humanity and hide it under the
title of religious belief or dogma.
We need to re-evaluate
what it means to be human and how our actions,
thoughts and emotions affect those around
us. We need to take responsibility for ourselves,
our health and our planet. This means being
informed as to what is going on. We need
to question the prevailing order
We are in the absolute sense, continuing
to make wrong choices instead of realizing
what should be the true nature of the human
being and the inseparable relationship between
life and all phenomena. We have not enough
respect for life - nor do we value life
itself, our environmental resources or ourselves.
The Western cult of individualisation is
destroying community, especially in a globalised
world. We should realize that bad or life
negating actions cause our collective communities
to rebound on us.
Thus the loss
of resources, the green house effect, climate
change, pollution, loss of biodiversity
and imbalance of living systems on the planet
have no respect for regional and geographic
barriers. Similarly inhumanity breeds inhumanity
like a raging forest fire - just as fascism
breeds fascism. While Governments continue
to hold territoriality and economic wealth
as paramount we lose the sight of human
beings and their real needs which need to
be defined more closely. Needs are biological
and also of the spirit.
The BASIC problem
is after all the nature of the human being
and the human predisposition to animalism,
hunger, power needs, domination, anger,
fear and the biological drives for territory,
sex, possession and survival!!! We need
to re-evaluate the nature of the human being
and whether it is possible not only to redefine
this nature but, actualize the change so
we create within ourselves a new kind of
human being
We are responsible
for the causes we create in our lives, in
terms of thinking, feeling and acting. Human
beings create their own destiny through
the law of cause and effect. If we want
to see ourselves now - look at the numerous
causes we have created in the past. If we
want to see our future look at the causes
we are creating now!
In Medicine the causation
of illness or wellness is dependent on constitution,
triggers, antecedents and mediators. What
this means is we start with an essential
blueprint of what we are and then internal
and external causes create our current existential
situation. Some people are weighted karmically
with certain genetic problems-others are
in environments which bring out a certain
genetic tendency. The internal causes are
basically our interpretation of what goes
on, and in this respect we have control.
Through the use of meditation, chanting,
creative visualisation, affirmations, focused
dreams, consciousness raising, biofeedback,
yoga, prayer, analysis of dreams and myths,
intention, expectation, healing, compassion,
contemplation, search for truth and beauty
etc. Internal causes are the way our immune
and endocrine systems react to triggers.
Their reactivity is inextricably tied up
with the nervous system. We have control
of our nervous system as proven by mind
body medicine. Therefore our dreams and
interpretations and visions of a better
world can occur if we can break the spiral
or circle of cause and effect
Myths are what motivate
and impel a society in the deeper levels
of consciousness. They are equivalent to
the archetypes of Jung and are collective.
In the deeper strata of consciousness they
are karmic patterns which resonate in the
noosphere.
We need to create new myths which express
the life giving and positive aspects of
humankind.
New values and myths
are the basis of change in our society.
Imposed values, such as legal structures
defining societal norms or religious values,
such as the ten commandments, are not the
same as values which come from the integral
innate nature of the human heart - values
which are based on altruism and provision
for the common good
The most insidious aspect
of the western capitalist economy is that
money is created by the banks as debt to
be repaid with interest, instead of being
created by governments and spent into the
economy through public services or a basic
income, free of debt. The creation of money
as debt, forces the economy to grow, necessitating
a never-ending expansion of markets and
wasteful economic activity. It is this which
is bringing the planet to the point of irreversible
climate change and the loss of life-support,
or nuclear war in the even nearer future.

espouses.
A The need for information
and education to be widely promulgated so
that people are aware of, and understand
the critical nature of the planet.
1. The irreversible destruction of living
and non living resources
2. Pollution
3. Climate Change
4. Overpopulation
5. Inequity and poverty, and to see these
all as interlinked
B That we need to realize
that the problem lies in the essential nature
of the Human Being and to redefine illness
and wellness as based primarily on our fundamental
orientation to the living universe
C The fundamental orientation
of the sciences must be to enhance the role
of consciousness and to understand that
any experiment is influenced by the intention
and expectation of the researcher. Also
Science objectifies phenomenal reality not
realizing we are always part of the process
and the experiment. Over differentiation
and reductionism has led to over specialization
so that the total all inclusive picture
is not seen. Science needs to become humanized!!
D the role of the Arts
as paramount to promote the finest qualities
of the Human Spirit
I suggest the only way to implement change
is to create a living community which expresses
the new human being who expresses environmental
and energy conservation, new forms of energy
production (solar) organic, perma-culture,
horticulture, in an independent self -regulating
autonomous communal environment.
The underground nexus
of change, or formation of critical mass
is what The centre For change aims to cultivate.
It is this Critical Mass which will be the
catalyst for creating a better and more
sustainable World.
