To continue our focus on Economic Humanism, we have selected the Universal Rights website, as MEJB website of the month.

This website, the Human Rights and Social Justice internet advocacy site, the Universal Rights Network, has been produced, financed and run by human rights advocate, Kim Gleeson for the last 8 years. It reaches 2.5 million people worldwide. It was set up to defend the rights of marginalised peoples worldwide, and is currently under consideration for prizes in Sweden and Japan.

The site has been listed as a human rights resource by the ILO, the UN, amongst thousand of others The site attracts the interests of international and Australian media agencies, the European Union, the US State Dept, the Office of the President of the USA, Department of Foreign Affairs Departments and Government agencies worldwide, Education agencies worldwide.

It is the first listing under " Universal Rights" on the Google search engine.

The Universal Rights Network is a meeting place for the peoples of the world to discuss the importance of universal rights and fundamental freedoms to us all. It was created to promote the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

This site provides valuable data to governments and NGOs. It also has some fascinating statistics. The home page provides a global population counter. When this page was loaded, there were 6,346,955,205 humans on the earth. The population increases by 220,000 people every day.

Other facts:
1.1 billion humans have no access to safe drinking water.
In the 35 poorest nations 30-50% have no access to health services.
Women are the most disadvantaged group, followed by the elderly, then children.
